Waterway Palms Plantation property owners have entered a new evolution of Myrtle Beach real estate. Not only was this expansive community designed to accommodate two very different building styles, but it features a planned amenities center the likes of which this town has never seen before.

Just inside the majestic entry gates, will be the Waterway Palms Plantation amenities center. Situated on a peninsula within a 25-acre lake, this estimated $5 million venture will feature:

  • two-story clubhouse with observation decks

  • swimming pool

  • tennis courts

  • children’s play area

  • walking bridge to the homes across the lake

  • and much more…

Waterway Palms Plantation does not have a timeframe in which you must build. You can hold the homesite in your portfolio, or design a custom dream home to have constructed. The location of the homesite will determine which of the two building styles is used, either Charleston or Low-Country style. Minimum square footage requirements, and an Architectural Review Committee, are in place to protect the integrity and property values of the community.

The Charleston-style design is based on two- or three-storey homes with expansive porches, wrought-iron accents, and usually a narrower building footprint; Low-Country architecture features expansive porches, but on a one- or two-storey homes. Expect to see grand stairways and a wider building footprint.

Waterway Palms Plantation is located on River Oaks Drive, on the west side of the Intracoastal Waterway, in the Carolina Forest area. A few miles down the road are two brand new schools opening this year, and a new Carolina Forest “Town Centre”, which will offer retail shops, restaurants, and medical facilities.

May 26, 2007 - Good News for South Carolina Property Owners

May 26, 2007 -- If you own real estate in South Carolina (or are considering doing so), two very important pieces of legislation have moved forward this week that will affect you.

H.3157 (a/k/a "Quick-Evict"), legislation allowing for the expedited eviction of a tenant, received a favorable report in the Senate Judiciary Committee this week and moved to the Senate calendar for consideration. Quick-Evict is of particular importance to South Carolina property managers, as current law allows for evictions to take up to 40 days, which is far too long - especially in emergency situations.

H.3820 (Insurance Reform), formally known as The Omnibus Coastal Property Insurance Reform Act, was officially referred to the Senate calendar on Thursday. The Senate will likely take up the legislation next week.
