Historic Little River
Little River, South Carolina, is one of the oldest
settlements along the east coast, established in the late 1600's.
Located just south of the North Carolina sate line, and about 20 miles
north of Myrtle Beach, this quaint coastal town remains unincorporated,
with about 7,000 residents, and is widely known for its fishing and
boating trades.

The relaxed pace of
life in Little River is treasured. A highlight for both visitors and
residents alike is to watch the fishing and shrimp boats leaving the
Little River waterfront in the early morning hours for the day's
catch... the sun coming up and mist rising from the calm inlet waters.
Their return is exciting, and the fruit of their labor evident on the
menus of local eateries.

Every May, the weekend after
Mother's Day, Little River hosts our world famous "Blue Crab Festival,"
bringing thousands of visitors to enjoy the great food and
family-oriented activities.
During
the warmer months, the waterfront shops and restaurants are truly the
heart of this unique town, offering guests outstanding views of the
waterway traffic, while enjoying the relaxing coastal breezes. |

Fishing charters, boat tours, and watercraft rentals and just some of the activities to find while
exploring the
Little River waterfront; however, a major draw to these docks are the
Vegas-style casino boats that depart twice daily. Travel through the
jetties to the open waters of the Atlantic, and experience the kind of
casino gaming you find in Las Vegas and Atlantic City... in true
Southern style!

River satisfies those who prefer terra firma, as well. Of the over 100
public golf courses available to play on the Grand Strand, quite a few
of them can be found in Little RIver and the surrounding areas - and
four are less than two miles from Shepherd's Cove. Little River...
small enough to still be called "quaint" but close enough to everything
the Grand Strand has to offer!
